RULES AND REGULATIONS – THE BUNGWAK RUN 2018 RELAY

The BUNGWAK RUN 2018 RELAY details:

c. Venue: The Overfloor, The Malay College, Kuala Kangsar, Perak
d. Distance per Lap: 1.6 km (1 mile)
e. Number of Laps to be completed per Team: 6
f. Number of Members per Team: 3
g. Number of Laps to be completed per Runner: 2

Team Categories

  • STUDENT CATEGORY: Relay Team of 3 runners, where the total age of the runners are 60 years and below.
  • OPEN CATEGORY: Relay Team of 3 runners, where the total age of the runners are between 61 and 120 years.
  • VETERAN CATEGORY: Relay Team of 3 runners, where the total age of the runners are above 120 years.

Eligibility

The BUNGWAK RUN 2018 RELAY (BWR2018) is open to all Malay College Old Boys (MCOBs) and their friends, MCOBs’ immediate family members (male/female) and MCKK students (Present Boys), teachers and staff members.

Immediate family members are spouse, parents and grandparents, children and grand children, siblings, parents in-law, brothers and sisters in-law, daughters and sons in-law.

Minimum age for a team member is 10 years old.

Team members must consist of at least one (1) MCOB or Present Boy.

Age calculation is taken based on birth year. Participant must be born in 2008, or earlier.

Category determination is based on total age for ALL team members, currently set at one hundred twenty (120) years for the Open category.

Registration

Registration must be done here courtesy of our sponsor Sporteqa.

All entries are based on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Entry fee is RM103.00 (inclusive RM5.00 processing fee) per team.

Once the registration is completed and payment has been made, entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Upon confirmation of participation, change to the category or other details will not be entertained.

The Organiser reserves the right to limit, accept or reject any entries without prior notice or reason.

The Organiser reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without any notice.

Submission of the registration form is an indication of the participant’s agreement to abide by the rules and regulations of the BUNGWAK RUN 2018 RELAY.

Entry is non-transferable. Those who are found participating with an unauthorized running number will be disqualified.

All participants are eligible to receive the event t-shirt, running bib and medals.

Run Format

This is a team relay. Each runner in the team must take turns running one (1) lap of the Run Course, until the team completes six (6) laps. Each lap starts and ends at the “Start/Finish” line.

Participants must run on the designated path for the entire route. Running route will be provided later.

Teams are encouraged to complete the six (6) laps in under 90 minutes.

All runners must display their running bib number on the frontal part of their body during the run.

The current runner for the team will be carrying a Baton (or any other means to serve the same purpose). This Baton must be passed on to the next runner within the transition zone.

Pass-Baton

A team is deemed to have completed their Run when six laps have been completed in the correct order of runner.

The first team from the Student, Open Category and Veteran Category will receive the Championship Trophy for their respective category.

Everyone else who finishes the Bungwak Run will receive a medal for their valiant efforts.

Others

No pets or any form of wheel-run objects of transport e.g. inline skates, prams, push cars shoes with built-in or attached rollers are allowed on the course other than official event and medical vehicles.

The running route on the event day will be partially closed to traffic up to 2 hours after the publicised start time, after which the (partial) road closure will be lifted.

Organiser’s Rights and Disclaimer

Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure participants’ safety, participants partake in this event at their own risks and the Organiser, their sponsors and their appointed officials shall not be liable for any death or injury, loss or damage, suffered or otherwise and howsoever arising.

Officials reserve the right to prevent a participant’s continuation in BWR2018 should they fail to comply with the rules and regulations. The Organiser reserves the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable of continuing with the run to prevent him/her from causing greater harm and injury to himself/herself.

The Organiser reserves the right to delay the commencement of the run in the event of inclement weather. If the inclement weather still persist after the delay, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel the event without any refund.

The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Rules and Regulations without giving prior notification or any reasons thereof.

The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose, including commercial advertising.

Result Disputes

For disputes on BWR2018 results, only appeals in writing submitted to the Organiser within 30 minutes after the official results announcement will be accepted. A deposit of RM30 will be refunded if the appeal is successful. The Organiser’s decision will be final.
